The Association is qualified to review plans and procedures for current or annually-established events. It can advise how to update them in the light of current requirements and best practise.   It can give advice on the interpretation of the UK rules as laid down in the Air Navigation Order Article 61 and rule 5 of the Rules of the Air regulations.  It also has considerable experience of the implementation of the European Joint Aviation Authority Guidance which has now been accepted as the regulatory basis in most European nations.

Although you can contact the secretary for advice at any time, you should bear in mind that staging an air event takes an enormous amount of preperation. The planning for a summer airshow should start in the early autumn of the previous year. In particular,if you want Royal Air Force Aircraft to display at your show, you must apply in writing before the end of September to stand any chance of success.

The Air Display Association holds regular training sessions for both it's own members and of other organisations, often in association with the Civil Aviation Authority.  It has recently managed courses for European Airshow Display Directors and for the Royal Air Force.  It is currently planning a one-day Seminar for representatives of County Police Forces and Emergency Planning Officers. This particular seminar aims to explain how the planning and execution of major air events differs from the requirements for a pop concert or similar outside event. It will also bring together those Forces and County Organisations with expertise in such events to pass on their experiences to those who have never been exposed to a major air display.

Training can be arranged for individuals or groups in whatever facets of Airshow planning and management that they require.  The Air Display Association holds it's own Public Liability insurance to cover the training aspects of such programmes.
